    Knights finish second at Lewis & Clark and St. Boni Invites

    The regionally-ranked Carleton College men’s cross country team spent the beginning of mid-term break competing in a pair of meets on Saturday. The top racers on the squad were in Estacada, Ore. for the Lewis & Clark Invitational where the Knights finished in second place behind the No. 1-ranked NAIA program in the country. Another contingent of Carleton runners headed to the St. Bonifacious Invitational where the Knights took second place as well.

    Matt Wikinson earns first MIAC weekly award

    Last weekend, Matt Wilkinson took advantage of the opportunity to compete on his home course, cruising to a 13-second margin of victory at the Running of the Cows meet. It was his first collegiate victory, and on Tuesday, he was recognized as the MIAC men’s cross country athlete-of-the-week.

    Matt Wilkinson wins Running of the Cows

    First-year Matt Wilkinson pulled away from the field and captured the individual title at the Running of the Cows. That performance allowed the No. 28-ranked Carleton College men’s cross country team to finish sixth at the meet, despite competing without two of the squad’s top racers.

    Knights see shift in national rankings

    Coming off a very strong showing at the Roy Griak Invitational, the Carleton College women’s cross country team moved up five spots and now sits No. 10 in the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) national rankings. Meanwhile, the Carleton men did not run last weekend and remained fourth in the regional but slipped one slot to No. 28 in the national rankings.
