NEW ORLEANS -- The Carleton College men’s cross country team posted a 3.51 cumulative grade-point average for the 2012 fall term, the seventh-best figure in the nation, and is one of 141 programs across the country recognized as an All-Academic team by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
To be eligible, squads need to post at least a 3.10-cumulative GPA during the fall 2012 term.
The MIAC led all conferences with 10 institutions earning All-Academic status. Augsburg, Bethel, Concordia, Hamline, Macalester, Saint John’s, Saint Mary’s, and St. Olaf joined Carleton on the list. The NCAC, Northwest Conference, and Centennial Conference followed with eight honorees each.
This is the seventh consecutive season for which the Knights earned the team academic award. For each year that Carleton was listed among the recipients, the Knights have finished among the top 20 GPA’s in the nation.
