MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — The Carleton College men’s golf team faced Hamilton College (N.Y.) on the Norman Course of the Barefoot Golf Resort. The Continentals won the match-play dual by a 4-1 margin.
The single point for the Knights came from Jorde Ranum (Jr./Spring Lake Park, Minn./Spring Lake Park) 4 and 2 win over Matthew Yung of Hamilton. Ranum had a competitive career best medal score of two-over-par 74.
Aaron Buckley (Sr./San Diego, Calif./Francis Parker School) lost 3 and 2 to Mac Pivirotto, as did Brian Herlihy (So./Danbury, Conn./Immaculate) to Chris Bousquet.
Hamilton’s top player, All-Region performer Gregory Scott, topped Jeff Berg (Sr./Wood Dale, Ill./Wheaton Academy) 6 and 5, while Graeme Harten (Jr./Cincinnati, Ohio/The Seven Hills School) lost 7 and 6 to Julian Ophals.
Playing as an individual Matt Meier (Fy./ North Muskegon, Mich./North Muskegon) came back to tie Gregory Reeves before losing 3 and 1.
The Carleton men next compete in the Saint Mary’s Invitational in Winona, Minn. on April 12th.
