ST. PETER, Minn. -- Sophomore Jack Dalluge (Waverly, Minn./Watertown-Mayer) and first-year Andrew Chang (Vancouver, Wash./Union) both won a pair of races as the Carleton College men’s swimming and diving team began the 2018 portion of the schedule with a dual meet at Gustavus Adolphus College.

Dalluge cruised to victory in the 200-yard freestyle, posting a time of 1:47.74, which was good for more than a four-second margin of victory. He later teamed with Nick Reeves (So./Kirkland, Wash./Lake Washington) on a 1-2 finish in the 100-yard freestyle as the duo posted times of 49.60 and 50.02, respectively.

Reeves captured an individual win of his own, reaching the wall first in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 22.42.

Chang notched a nearly four-second margin of victory in taking top honors in the 200-yard IM with his time of 2:01.19. He also combined with Stevie Fitch (Fy./Redmond, Wash./Nikola Tesla Stem School) on a 1-2 result in the 100-yard butterfly as the duo finished in 52.32 and 53.64, respectively. Both of those marks were good for season-best times.

Ari Conati (So./Minneapolis, Minn./Minnetonka) took home the “Can of Corn” award as he was the runner up in the 200-yard backstroke (season-best 2:04.14), took third in the 100-yard backstroke (season-best 57.11), swam on the Knights’ second-place 200-yard freestyle relay (1:31.03), and leadoff with a time of 26.59 in the 200-yard medley relay.

After going nearly five weeks without participating in a meet, the Knights will be right back in the water on Saturday, Jan. 13 for the Luther College Sprint Invite. Racing begins at 12 p.m., and a link to live video will be available via Knights Online.
