Men's Swimming and Diving at Luther Sprint Invite

DECORAH, Iowa – Competing at their second meet in less than 24 hours, first-years Andrew Chang (Vancouver, Wash./Union) and Stevie Fitch (Redmond, Wash./Nikola Tesla Stem School) led the way for the Carleton College men’s swimming and diving team as the Knights notched seven individual and one relay top-five results at the Luther Sprint Invite.

Chang posted the Knights’ lone event victory at the six-team meet, reaching the wall first in the 50-yard butterfly with a time of 23.78. Nick Reeves (So./Kirkland, Wash./Lake Washington) turned in a third-place result (25.17) in the same event. Chang also had runner-up finishes in both the 100-yard freestyle (50.11) and 100-yard IM (55.32).

Fitch earned the "Can of Corn" award as he contributed third-place results in the 200-yard freestyle (1:49.76) and 500-yard freestyle (5:02.44), with Jack Dalluge (So./Waverly, Minn./Watertown-Mayer) adding a fifth-place finish at the longer distance with his time of 5:10.97.

Chang, Fitch, Reeves, and Ryan Wetzel (So./Salem, Ore./West Salem) combined on a fourth-place finish in the 200-yard medley (1:41.36).

Carleton will host Saint John’s University at 12 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 20.
