ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Carleton College men’s swimming and diving team took part in the five-team UST Invitational on Friday and Saturday. This was an unscored meet and is the final clash for the Knights before they head to Florida for their annual Winter Break training/competition trip.

Sam Darwish (So./Akron, Ohio./University School) and Andrew Chang (Fy./Vancouver, Wash./Union) were the top individual performers for the Knights as both posted multiple top-five results.

Chang’s best result was a second-place finish in the 400-yard IM with his time of 4:23.08. He placed third in the 200-yard IM (2:00.75) and took fourth in the 100-yard butterfly (52.35). Darwish placed fifth in both the 200-yard butterfly (2:05.34) and 1,650-yard freestyle (17:27.20).

The Knights also had three relays post top-four finishes with Chang and Jack Dalluge (So./Waverly, Minn./Watertown-Mayer) racing on each.

That duo paired with Nick Reeves (So./Kirkland, Wash./Lake Washington) and Ryan Wetzel (So./Salem, Ore./West Salem) for a third-place result in the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:28.86). Stevie Fitch (Fy./Redmond, Wash./Nikola Tesla Stem School) teamed with Chang, Darwish, and Dalluge to take third in the 800-yard freestyle relay (7:24.91), while Ari Conati (So./Minneapolis, Minn./Minnetonka) closed the meet with Dalluge, Chang, and Reeves in a tie with Saint John’s for fourth in the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:18.47).
