BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Representing the Carleton College softball team, Anna Lauko (Sr./Whitefish Bay, Wis.) and Natalie Maurice (Jr./Eden Prairie, Minn.) were named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Midwest Region Second Team.

A total of 364 players from across the country were selected to the 2019 NCAA Division III All-Region softball teams. All-Region players are nominated and selected by NFCA member coaches in each of the eight Division III regions.

This is the second time in Lauko’s career that she has been named to the Second Team. She also made the squad after her stellar rookie campaign in 2016.

This season, the senior led the MIAC with 35 hits in conference play and was ranked seventh with 56 overall. Lauko also finished the year with a .449 batting average, which ranked second in the conference. Along with hits and batting average, she also led the Knights in runs, doubles, and triples. In the field, the senior was perfect, notching zero errors all season.

Maurice earned All-Region honors for the first time in her career. She manned the catcher position superbly, throwing out six base-runners, second-best in MIAC play. Her bat was potent as well, as the junior lifted five home runs and recorded 48 hits, 12 more than her total last season. She also finished the year with an impressive .612 slugging percentage.
