Youso Selected All-Region Honorable Mention

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced that Carleton College middle hitter Jessa Youso (Sr./Virginia, Minn.) received All-Region Honorable Mention. She becomes the first Knight selected for all-region recognition since 2007.

Youso, a two-time All-MIAC selection, ranked second in the conference as she posted the second-highest single-season attack percentage (.352) in Carleton historyl. A dynamic player, Youso was one of only three conferences players to rank in the top-10 for both kills and blocks during conference matches. Youso ranked fourth the MIAC with an average of 3.20 kills per set and fifth with 1.00 blocks per set.

As a senior captain, Youso helped lead the Knights to the semifinals of the 2012 MIAC Playoffs where Carleton lost a five-set thriller to eventual national champion University of St. Thomas.

The MIAC was well-represented in the regional awards, with 8 of the 20 total players named to either the to the All-Central Region Team or All-Region Honorable Mention.
