History/Notes
Knights won 2004 MIAC regular-season title, first in program history… 22 victories in 2004 and 2005 marked the most since 1988... In 2004, Knights .880 winning percentage set a new school record, as did its .909 conference winning percentage… Carleton also had its first All-Americans in program history in 2004, middle blocker Beth Freeman '05 (third team) and outside hitter Katie Freeman '05 (honorable mention)… The Knights won a school-record 13 consecutive matches and 27 consecutive individual games in 2004… Team notched seven consecutive winning seasons from 2001-2007 for the first time in school history… Twenty victories in 2003 were the most since 1988… Regular season MIAC championship in 2004 was the first in school history… Jaynes was MIAC's Coach of the Year in 2003 and 2004 and AVCA regional coach of the year in 2004 and currently ranks first on Carleton's all-time win list with 204 victories… Team has earned the AVCA Team Academic Award 8 times in the last 11 seasons (2001, 2002, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010)… First year of volleyball 1973… In 2005 the Knights qualified for the NCAA for the first time since 1985, beat Concordia-Moorhead in the first round before falling to Washington University… Carleton lost to Central College in the first round of 2007 tourney… Overall record of 522-628-13, 139-216 in MIAC play.
