NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The Carleton College women’s basketball team dropped a 66-55 result to Concordia College on Saturday in what was the final home game for the six seniors on the Knights’ roster: Lindsey Chavez (Westminister, Colo./Holy Family), Anna Flitner (Presho, S.D./Lyman), Anne Hamilton (Chanhassen, Minn./Minnetonka), Katherine Miles (Park Ridge, Ill/Maine So.), Sarah Paller (Brooklyn, New York/Berkeley Carroll School), and Sarah Waldfogel (Minneapolis, Minn./The Blake School).

“The senior class is more than what they do for us on the court,” said Carleton head coach Cassie Kosiba. “Their leadership, passion, and heart will be missed dearly.”

Concordia (9-14, 6-10 MIAC) raced out to a 22-9 lead after the first quarter, but the Knights closed to within 34-28 by halftime. The Cobbers created some breathing room during the third quarter and led by at least nine points for much of the second half.

Concordia shot 41 percent overall, including 8-of-17 performance (47 percent) from beyond the arc. Carleton finished that game shooting 35 percent from the field.

Waldfogel paced Carleton (7-16, 4-12 MIAC) with 14 points, while Paller scored eight points, and Miles contributed five more.

Beside the seniors, Katie Chavez (So./Westminster, Colo./Holy Family) had another impressive performance, scoring 12 points and dishing a game-high five assists.

For the Cobbers, Grace Walhowe put together an impressive performance, scoring a season-best 24 points. Mira Ellefson contributed 10 points and seven rebounds off the bench.

The Knight’s next game will be on Feb. 14 at 6 p.m. versus archrival St. Olaf College. An audio broadcast will be available via KDHL 920 AM in the Northfield/Faribault area and worldwide via Knights Online.
