ARDEN HILLS, Minn. – The Carleton College women’s basketball team dropped its season finale, falling, 95-59, at Bethel University. Senior Sarah Waldfogel (Minneapolis, Minn./The Blake School) tallied a team-high 16 points as the curtain closed on her collegiate career.

This also marked the final game in uniform for fellow seniors Lindsey Chavez (Westminster, Colo./Holy Family), Anna Flitner (Presho, S.D./Lyman), Anne Hamilton (Chanhassen, Minn./Minnetonka), Katherine Miles (Park Ridge, Ill./Maine So.), and Sarah Paller (Brooklyn, N.Y./Berkeley Carroll School)

The game started close, with Carleton (8-17, 5-13 MIAC) trailing only 28-23 midway through the second quarter. The Knights could not match Bethel’s (18-7, 13-5 MIAC) success beyond the arc as the Royals matched their season high with a dozen three-pointers and shot 59 percent overall.

For Bethel, Taite Anderson led the way with a 26-point 10-rebound performance, shooting 11-14 from the field. Hannah Johnson also had a double-double with 14 points and 10 boards.

The turning point in the Knights season came on Jan. 3 when Samantha Cooke (So./Chesterfield, Mo./Incarnate Word Academy) sustained a season-ending knee injury. Carleton entered play that day with a 5-5 record but was only 3-12 after losing its top post player.
