NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The No. 12-ranked Carleton College women’s cross country team took care of business in besting cross-town foe St. Olaf College, 23-38,  in the annual Great Karhu Shoe Race. The competition—which sees the Knights run in costume—marks the season finale for those runners not racing at next week NCAA Central Regionals.

Cristy Carretero (Jr./Minnetonka, Minn./Hopkins) was the top finisher for the Knights, placing second at 15:14.6. Natalie Marsh (So./Winetka, Ill./New Trier) was next across the line for Carleton with her time of 15:18.0.

Grace Leslie (So./Orono, Minn./Orono) placed fifth overall with a time of 15:21.5, while Berit Hudson-Rasmussen (Jr./Champaign, Ill./University Laboratory) and Ingrid Worth (Fy./Westwood, Kan./Shawnee Mission East) rounded out the scoring for the home team as they finished sixth and seventh, respectively, at 15:32.0 and 15:34.0.

Carleton will race next at the NCAA Central Region Championships to be held on Saturday, Nov. 10 in Waverly, Iowa.
