NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The Carleton College women’s soccer team absorbed a 2-0 setback on Saturday, falling to visiting Augsburg University.

Carleton (5-4-4, 2-3-3 MIAC) was under pressure much of the first half as Augsburg (9-5-0, 6-2-0 MIAC) built a 14-1 advantage in shot attempts. The Knights defense held, and the two sides remained scoreless until the 59th minute when the Auggies’ Ashley St. Aubin scored her 15th goal of the season. That tally also broke the Augsburg career goal-scoring mark.

The visitors added an insurance goal in the 68th minute when Jessy Wiskofske placed her shot from range into the upper corner.

Carleton pressed for a goal throughout the second half as shots over the second 45-minute period were 11-10.

Anna Roethler (So./St Louis Park, Minn./St Louis Park) registered 10 saves for the Knights, while Emily Chapman had six saves on her way to a clean sheet.

Carleton opens a three-match road trip with a visit to Saint Mary’s University on Wednesday, Oct. 17 at 6:30 p.m. The Knights are currently four points out of the final playoff spot with three conference matches remaining this season.
