EAU CLAIRE, Wis. -- Rookie Bailey Ulbricht (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) notched her third goal of the season as she scored for the second consecutive game, but the Carleton College women’s soccer team settled for a 1-1 tie in a non-conference contest at University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
UW-Eau Claire possessed a slight 8-7 edge in shots, but the teams managed just two total shots over the final 50 minutes of the contest. Both of those attempts found the back of the net.
For the second straight day Abby Wills (Sr./Portland, Ore./St. Mary's) setup an Ulbricht score, this one coming in the 82nd minute and providing the Knights a short-lived lead. The Blugolds, ranked No. 5 in the North Region by the NSCAA, tallied the equalizer five minutes later as a corner kick eventually resulted in Paige LeGate’s team-best seventh goal of the season.
Beth Ashinsky (Jr./Mount Kisco, N.Y./Horace Greeley) and Jackie Lombard (Fy./Carlsbad, Calif./Canyon Crest Academy) split time guarding the goal for Carleton, recording three and one saves respectively. Nina Behrenbrinker made a trio of stops for UWEC.
Carleton closes the regular season with a trio of MIAC matches, all back home at Bell Field and live video of each will be available on Knights Online. First up, Carleton hosts Bethel University on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 12 p.m.
