DECORAH, Iowa – Emma Lederer (So./Madison, Wis./West), Caroline Mather (Jr./Highlands Ranch, Colo./Mountain Vista), and Ada Meyer (So./Seattle, Wash./Ingraham) each won individual events, and the trio figured in a whopping 10 top-five finishes for the Carleton College women’s swimming and diving team at the Luther Sprint Invite.

Lederer was first to the wall in the 100-yard IM with a time of 1:04.30. That event also saw Mather as the runner up (1:04.82) along with Meyer and Kate Grossman (Fy./Evanston, Ill./Evanston Township) taking fourth and fifth, respectively, at 1:08.13 and 1:08.17.

Lederer also took second in the 50-yard backstroke (29.59) and was fourth in the 50-yard butterfly (28.69) to aid in her selection as the team’s “Can of Corn” award winner.

Mather won the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.78, and Meyer prevailed in the 50-yard breaststroke (31.73) to go along with her runner up result in the 500-yard freestyle (5:45.45).

Anisa Lester (Sr./Corte Madera, Calif./The Branson School) tied for third in the 100-yard backstroke (1:07.48), while Morgan Mayer (So./Garret Park, Md./Georgetown Day) and Anna Gergely (Jr./Denver, Colo./Jewish Day School) placed fourth in the 50-yard breaststroke (33.27) and 100-yard breaststroke (1:18.18), respectively.

Both Carleton relays performed well. Lederer, Meyer, Gergely, and Lester combined on a third-place finish (1:55.97) in the 200-yard medley, while Lester, Mayer, Eveline Dowling (Jr./Iowa City, Iowa/Iowa City West), and Mather took second in the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:43.03).

Carleton will host the College of Saint Benedict for a 12 p.m. meet at Thorpe Pool on Saturday, Jan. 20.
