MINNEAPOLIS -- The Carleton College women’s swimming and diving team had five individual swims qualify for spots in the A, B, C, event finals on day two of the Minnesota Invite. The Knights also had four entries in the lone relay event on day’s schedule.

The three-day competition features four NCAA Division I programs—No. 21-ranked University of Minnesota, University of Utah (which is receiving votes in the D-I national poll), San Jose State, and South Dakota State—along with Carleton, St. Olaf College, and select club swimmers from around the area.

Ada Meyer (Jr./Seattle, Wash./Ingraham) turned in the top performance for Carleton on this day as she placed third in the “B” final and 11th overall in the 100-yard breaststroke. Her time was 1:06.21. Kate Grossman (So./Evanston, Ill./Evanston Township) earned a spot in the “C” final of the same event and finished in 1:10.46.

Alison Cameron (Fy./Reno, Nev./Reno), Margaret Lachman (So./New York, N.Y./Nightingale-Bamford), and Grossman each qualified for the “C” final of the 400-yard IM where they posted times of 4:48.38, 5:03.86, and 5:08.04.

The evening concluded with a ninth-place result in the 200-yard medley relay. Lydia Boyum (Fy./Bethesda, Md./Walter Johnson), Meyer, Claire Neid (Fy./Denver, Colo./George Washington), and Caroline Mather (Sr./Highlands Ranch, Colo./Mountain Vista) posted Carleton’s top time of 1:50.29.

On Saturday, the final day of competition at this meet, the schedule includes the 1650 freestyle, 200 backstroke, 100 freestyle, 200 breaststroke, 200 butterfly, and 400 free relay.
