NORTHFIELD, Minn. — Carleton College's Danielle Vasiliev (Jr./Lincolnshire, Ill./Stevenson) had a perfect 4-0 week (2-0 singles, 2-0 doubles) to earn MIAC Women’s Tennis Athlete-of-the-Week honors for the second time in her career.
In her first action of the week, Vasiliev was a 6-0, 6-1, winner at No. 2 singles and an 8-1 winner at No. 2 doubles to lead the Knights to a 9-0 MIAC win over Hamline. On Sunday afternoon, she again won 8-1 at No. 2 doubles and won a 6-1, 2-6, 10-5 thriller at No. 2 singles as Carleton nearly knocked off the No. 32-ranked Division II team in the nation, Augustana (S.D.).
Vasiliev is undefeated thus far in 2017 with a 2-0 singles record and a 3-0 doubles mark.
She and the rest of the Knights will return to action on Saturday, Feb. 25 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
