MINNEAPOLIS – Sid Holder (Fy./West Orange, NJ/Phillips Academy) won the 200-meter dash and Damali Britton (Sr./Phoenix, Ariz./Desert Vista) prevailed in the triple jump as the Carleton College women’s indoor track and field team participated in the Parents Day Open hosted by the University of Minnesota.

Holder posted a personal-best time of 25.96, third-fastest in the MIAC this season and third-fastest in Carleton history. Britton jumped 10.93 meters to win the 17-person event. She ranks third in the MIAC this season.

Holder’s highlights were not limited to the 200-meter race, however, as she also placed second in the long jump with season-best distance of 5.32 meters and claimed fifth in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.97.

Two other Knights also had top-five results:
• Maya Hilty (Fy./Grand Jct, Colo./Palisade) finished fourth in the 1000-meter run, crossing the line at 3:10.13.
• Erica Blackett-Thomas (Fy./Wellesley Hills, Mass./Wellesley) took fourth in the high jump after clearing 1.55 meters.

This was the final tuneup for next week’s MIAC Indoor Track and Field Championships, which will begin with the pentathlon on Thursday, Feb. 22 followed by the remainder of the conference meet on Friday and Saturday.
