MANKATO, Minn. – Samantha Schnirring (Sr./Eden Prairie, Minn.) and Emma Greenlee (So./Aurora, Minn./Mesabi East) were the top two finishers in the 5000-meter run, leading the Carleton College women’s track and field team on day two of Minnesota State-Mankato’s Mark Schuck Open.

The Knights took fourth place at the 14-team meet that included nine NCAA Division II programs.

Racing against D-II and D-III competitors, Schnirring and Greenlee pulled away from the pack and notched times of 18:23.88 and 18:32.84, respectively. The third-place finisher, from Hamline, came across almost 16 seconds behind Greenlee.

Other top-10 results for the Knights:
• After winnng the 3000-meter run on Friday night, Amanda Mosborg (So./Edina, Minn.) earned a solid fourth-place result In the 1000-meter run with her time of 3:12.53. Amy Kropp (Fy./Logan, Utah) and Lauren Pitts (Fy./Nashville, Tenn./Ensworth) took sixth and ninth in the same event with times of 3:15.02 and 3:21.92, respectively.
• Elsa Sandeno (Sr./Bellingham, Wash./Sehome) crossed the finish line in 1:41.68 in the 600-meter run, good for fourth place.
• Sydney Marsh (Fy./Austin, Minn.) competed in the pole vault and took fourth place with a mark of 3.12 meters, while Jade Ogilvie (Jr./Durham, N.C./Woods Charter) placed eighth at 2.82 meters.

The Knights will return to MSU-Mankato on Saturday, Feb. 2 for the Ted Nelson Classic starting at 11:00 a.m.
