Result: Wingert provisional time in 800

Women's Track and Field hosts Pre-MIAC Meet, 2/24/06

Wingert races to provisional qualifying time in 800 meters

Nortthfield, Minn. – Katherine Wingert won the 800 meters in a NCAA provisional qualifying time of 2:17.52 to lead Carleton at the Pre-MIAC Meet at the Recreation Center.

Wingert was one of two Carleton's individual winners in a meet featuring Bethel, Macalester, Gustavus and Carleton. Heather Hoecker captured the 1,000 meters.

Other top finishers included Lindsey Nietmann finishing second by 0.32 seconds in the 600 meters, Courtney Dewart placing third in the 55 meters and Karen Campbell was fourth in the mile run. Carleton senior Sarah Schillaci, running unattached as she is taking the winter term off, finished second in the 3,000 meters.

Rachel Sinclair provided Carleton's top finish in the field events, grabbing a third-place finish and Molly Christian finished fifth in the weight throw.

The event was the final for the Knights before next week's MIAC Indoor Championships, which will be hosted by Carleton on March 2-4.
