Martin Luther King Jr. Service of Celebration and Remembrance

Sun, January 15, 2017 • 5:00pm - 6:00pm (1h) • Chapel Main Sanctuary

Reverend Oliver White is a co-pastor at Clark-Grace Memorial United Church of Christ in South St. Paul. As a young man in Detroit, Rev. White worked with Dr. King, launching him into a lifetime of being a 'social activist with preaching privileges.'  He has been involved in numerous issues related to poverty and civil rights.  In addition to serving several congregations and teaching, he has worked as a staff columnist for several daily newspapers and a keyboardist for Motown Records.  We are honored that Rev. White has preached and spoken often at Carleton since the 1980's, when the late Senator Paul Wellstone, then a political science professor, invited him to speak to his classes.
