Chemistry Department Seminar: Abraham Badu-Tawiah

Fri, February 1, 2019 • 3:30pm - 4:30pm (1h) • Old Music Hall 103

Abraham Badu-Tawiah, Assistant Professor of Chemistry, The Ohio State University

The underserved population is often regarded a fringe group that loses in the technology race. This presentation will describe an on-demand detected strategy that combines new levels of simplicity and practicality, modest cost and a centralized detection strategy for the accurate disease detection. I will focus on two underserved groups: asymptomatic malaria detection in the developing world and chemical analysis from ultra-small sample volumes collected from pediatric patients.
