Tim Leunig has a distinguished record of service in government and academia. He is chief analyst and chief scientific adviser at the Department for Education in the U.K., and economic adviser on housing supply at the Department for Communities and Local Government. He is also associate professor of economic history at the London School of Economics, a fellow of the Royal Historical Society, the Royal Society of Arts and the Royal Statistical Society. He also served previously as chief economist at the think tank CentreForum. 

He has written widely on current and historical economic issues.  Both scholarly and witty, Leunig emphasizes the importance of cultivating creativity in our educational system – that creativity, based on knowledge, results in world-changing ideas.

The title of his presentation is 'What Makes a Great Education? Knowledge and Skills in the 21st Century.'
