The Ethics of Living Online: A conversation with 2Fik and Alana Conner

Wed, November 6, 2019 • 6:00pm - 8:00pm (2h) • Leighton 304, Carleton College

2Fik is a multidisciplinary artist. His work combines simultaneously photography, video, modeling, and performance art. Whether he is directing the camera or the subject of a photograph, 2Fik confronts the boundaries placed around identities and the expectations on gender. 2Fik is coming to Carleton thanks to the Mellon Public Works project headed by Stephanie Cox, a Senior Lecturer of the French Department and the Cross-Cultural Studies Department at Carleton College. While on campus, he will serve as the Center for Community and Civic Engagement Artist-in-Residence for three weeks (October 15-November 5). 2Fik first came to Carleton in 2011 and in 2013, he came back to participate in the Carleton’s Living-Learning Community pilot for first-year students, Civil Discourse on a Diverse Campus. Acknowledgments: EthIC & Philosophy Department, Distinguished Women Speaker Fund, Computer Science Department, Psychology Department, Class of '57 Visiting Scholar for Interdisciplinary Studies, and Public Works
