Carleton’s Opening Convocation is the first campus-wide event of a new academic year. Although we are not able to gather in person this year, we nonetheless mark this signal occasion with a Virtual Opening Convocation featuring readings from Chaplain Carolyn Fure-Slocum, remarks from President Steven G. Poskanzer, and an address by Stacey Abrams.
We regret that the recording of Stacey Abrams' address as presented at the Virtual Opening Convocation unfortunately had some technical flaws that were beyond the control of Carleton College. See a revised recording of the address in its entirety.
