Harvard and U Chicago Divinity School Information Session
When and Where: October 18th in Sayles-Hill 251 from 5:00-6:00pm.
The Associate Director of Admissions at Harvard Divinity School, Margaret Okada-Scheck, will be on-campus to talk about Harvard's graduate programs. Joshua Feigelson, Dean of Students, will also be here to talk on behalf of The University of Chicago Divinity School and programs offered.
- Harvard Divinity School graduates engage in a wide variety of professions. They continue in academic careers and go on to educate future scholars and teachers of religion and theology; they become ministers and leaders in their own religious traditions; they work in public service and with governmental, nongovernmental, and social organizations, in nonprofits and in business, in the arts, in health care, and in other professions.
- The University of Chicago Divinity School is a tough-minded, rigorous, and dynamic conversation about what religion is and why understanding it is so vital and important. At the Divinity School, they believe in bringing serious inquiry into the subject of religion. The school provides a thriving context where all ideas are subject to uncompromising standards of argument and evidence.
Margaret will also be talking about the Diversity and Explorations program (DivEx), which Carleton students have participated in, and have then gone on to be successful applicants in our admissions process. DivEx is a three-day introduction to graduate programs at HDS that span religious and cultural divides to prepare ethical leaders to work in a complex world. DivEx will be held early November. Selected students will be provided with transportation and housing, and meals for the duration of the program. Click here for more information!
