Grimke Lecture with Max Lyonga

Thu, May 2, 2019 • 12:00pm - 1:00pm (1h) • Gould Library Athenaeum

Max Lyonga is a contemporary Cameroonian painter. He is a largely self-taught artist who has also participated in workshops organized in Cameroon and abroad.

He calls his approach the “mokwe” style, for he mixes abstraction with impressionism, painting with both acrylics and local materials. He enjoys painting with warm colors, for he is of those who believe that painting should be an instrument used to take people on a journey full of hope and joy.

Lunch provided for the first 25.
