Global Issues Forum: Sustainable, Market-Based Development in Ethiopia

Thu, October 20, 2016 • 4:00pm - 5:00pm (1h) • Goodsell 03

The use of open fires and traditional stoves for cooking in the developing world is a contributor to greenhouse gas emissions and harmful (even deadly) indoor air pollution.

Join us to hear about two Carleton students’ data-driven approaches to understanding the priorities and energy needs of and health impacts on the people of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Their efforts contribute to the building of a self-sustaining development organization that both appeals to local consumers and also improves health and environmental outcomes.

Refreshments will be served!
