Laura CliseLaura Clise is a passionate and intrapraneurial corporate sustainability executive with more than 15 years of diverse experience, instigating and championing cross-functional, multi-stakeholder strategies at the intersection of business and society. She is a coalition builder and connector of leaders and ideas to drive social and environmental impact, linking business objectives with social purpose, employee engagement, and corporate citizenship. Fluent in French, she is also able to sing and/or order chocolate ice cream in Spanish, German, Italian, Chinese, Cambodian, Hebrew, and Turkish.

Currently the founder of a fledgling social enterprise and Senior Advisor to the Impact Finance Center, Laura previously led sustainability and corporate responsibility at Weyerhaeuser. Prior to Weyerhaeuser, she led corporate sustainability at Plum Creek and served as the President of the Plum Creek Foundation. Laura’s sustainability experience also includes roles leading sustainable development, supplier diversity, external communications, and corporate citizenship at AREVA Inc., preceded by work for the U.N. Global Compact, Intel Corporation, and Business for Social Responsibility. 

She began her career in brand management at General Mills and subsequently worked for McMaster-Carr Supply Company, where she led the international sales operations department. 

Laura received an MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management, and was the recipient of the Barton Kyle Yount Award, given to the student in a graduating class who most exemplifies the ideals of scholarship, accomplishment, and character set forth by the school's founder.

Laura received a BA in International Relations from Carleton College. While at Carleton, Laura was a member of the varsity women’s soccer and tennis teams, sang a cappella with the Knightingales, worked as an RA, served as the Vice President of Mortarboard, and was part of the group of students involved in hiring Carleton’s first LGBT coordinator in 1999. Since graduating, she has delivered the Common Reading alumni remarks, been a part of two reunion organizing committees, and served on the Out After Carleton Alumni Board and Carleton Alumni Career Board.

Laura serves on the Athlete Ally Board of Directors, the IslandWood Board of Directors, is a member of the Net Impact Corporate Advisory Council, and is Vice Chair of the Green Sports Alliance Diversity & Inclusion Committee. She was a 2013 Aspen Institute First Mover Fellow and the recipient of a Human Rights Campaign Exceptional Individual Achievement Award and a National Diversity Council LGBT Leadership Award.
