"Like it's 1999: The Theology and Politics of Prince"
Elliot Ratzman is a visiting fellow at Lawrence University. His talk is in tribute to the late performer Prince and will address how the Cold War against Communism shaped Prince's view on utopia, politics and religion.
Previously he has taught courses on religion, race and politics, Jewish Studies, and social ethics at Temple University, Swarthmore College, Rutgers, and Vassar College. He writes about questions of solidarity and allyship, community organizing and religion, and religious ethical practices. His current book project, Between Precarity and Power: A Jewish Reckoning With Race, explores the relationship between Jewish thought and anti-racist movements in the US, Europe, and Israel/Palestine.
