On April 15, 2019, the world grieved as fire ravaged France’s best-known cathedral. In this round table discussion, we will discuss the symbolic importance of Notre-Dame, the current controversies it has elicited, and the plans that are emerging for its future. Speakers: Bill North, Professor of History. Scott Carpenter, Marjorie Crabb Garbisch Professor of French and the Liberal Arts Sandra Rousseau, Assistant Professor of French & Francophone Studies, and Guillaume Lacroix, Consul General of France in Chicago.
