SARAE Fall Dialogue Group

Thu, October 29, 2020 • 12:25pm - 1:25pm (1h)

All Carleton staff are welcome to join the SARAE group for dialogue centering issues of racism. Our fall series will consist of dialogue events in weeks 5, 7, & 9, with the theme: Historical context of racism in the US & at Carleton. No previous experience discussing racism is required, and you can attend any of the events that fit your schedule.

Visit the Carleton Staff webpage for more information about SARAE, and to access the TedX Talk for this meeting. We will be discussing a TedX Talk by Megan Ming Francis, Let's get to the root of racial injustice. Make sure to watch the TedX Talk before attending the dialogue. We look forward to seeing you there.

Disclaimer: In Megan Francis's 2016 Tedx Talk, she uses the term 'Blacks' to refer to Black people. As times and terms have changed, we would like to be intentional with our language, using race as a descriptive rather than definitive term in our discussions. Therefore, please say 'Black people' when referring to members of the Black community.
