LTC Targeted Audience Lunch - Supporting Students Pursuing Tech Jobs

Tue, October 29, 2019 • 11:45am - 1:00pm (1h 15m) • AGH Meeting Room

Many Carleton students pursue graduate school after graduation. Faculty advising for this post- graduation path is very robust since all faculty have taken this path at some point. However, not all graduating Carls want to pursue graduate school immediately. For those students who look for jobs in the tech industry (i.e., jobs in industry using and building on student’s technical knowledge), the support system is not as clear or robust. This LTC session will explore what faculty, departments, and the Career Center are doing to support students pursuing jobs in the tech industry as well as look at data from alums about the support they received to land their first tech job.

Marty Baylor, Associate Professor of Physics

RJ Holmes-Leopold, Director of the Career Center
