Arboretum Volunteer Work Event

Volunteer to help restore the forests of the Upper Arboretum.

9:00 am – 12:00 pm / Upper Arboretum
Volunteer in the Arb! May 20th, 9:00am-12:00pm.

Meet at the Bridge over Spring Creek along the paved trail, just downhill from the Arboretum entrance at Oak and Second Streets.

Forest restoration in the Upper Arb includes removal of buckthorn, bush honeysuckle, tree lilac and amur cork tree in one of our forest restoration areas in the Upper Arboretum. We may also collect seed from some of the early flowering forest species. All equipment is provided, just dress for the weather!   If you are running late that morning please come anyway – we will post signs to get to you to the right place.  This activity goes on rain or shine but will be cancelled if hazardous weather (tornado warnings or lightening storm). No notice will be sent out, make your own judgement about weather conditions.
