Animal Tales: Winter Survival

We survive the winter by bundling up in coats or by hiding inside drinking hot chocolate, but how do animals survive the subzero temps that are common in Minnesota? Join a student naturalist to learn about some of the survival techniques that our furred and feathered friends use. This is a great chance to explore Carleton College’s Cowling Arboretum!

We will start off inside and then head out into the Arboretum to look for animal tracks and signs. The program will be a little over an hour and is suitable for all ages! The walk will be about 0.5 mile. If there is a lot of snow, snowshoes will be available for the first ten people. Please dress warmly.
