Poster for the film From Billions to None:The Passenger Pigeon's Flight to Extinction

The compelling film about a beautiful bird driven extinct in just decades— and the threats to species today. To people today, the contemporary accounts of passenger pigeons seem unbelievable. Yet by the end of the 19th century, relentless slaughter for food, recreation and habitat loss had wholly depleted this seemingly inexhaustible resource. And in short order the passenger pigeon species was gone forever. This film will be introduced by a member of the cast, Stan Temple, Beers-Bascom Professor Emeritus in Conservation, University of Wisconsin-Madison and Senior Fellow, Aldo Leopold Foundation.  A question and answer session will follow the film showing.
