Emergency Planning Committee

By Elise Eslinger and Joe Hargis, Committee Co-chairs

A representative group has been meeting this term to review the College's current emergency plans and to recommend areas where the plan should be augmented and rehearsed. The Committee is also investigating current situations where the College is at greater risk if an emergency situation arises. The group will be forwarding recommendations for a comprehensive campus emergency plan to Administrative Council in the fall.

Members of the group include: Cathy Carlson (Wellness Center), Joel Cooper (ITS), Steve Drew (Chemistry), Wayne Eisenhuth (Security), Elise Eslinger (President's Office), Fred Hagstrom (Art and Art History), Joe Hargis (External Relations), Randie Johnson (Risk Management), Rob Lamppa (Facilities), Bonnie-Jean Mork (Human Resources), Bev Nagel (Dean of the College Office), and Bucky Zeitz (Student Affairs).

A separate but related committee has been meeting to discuss the Avian Flu. More information can be found on their work on their Web site. Their efforts are being linked to the work of the Emergency Planning Committee.

The Emergency Planning Committee welcomes your questions and concerns. Please watch for opportunities next fall to engage in broader public discussion about emergency preparedness at Carleton.
