Carleton Chooses Manager, General Contractor for Collaboratory Project

By Eric Sieger, Public Relations and Media Relations

Carleton has selected the Pegasus Group to provide owner representative and project management services and the McGough Companies as the construction manager and general contractor for the Collaboratory project, the site of the former Northfield middle school. Both firms are based in St. Paul, Minn.

The Pegasus Group’s expertise is working with higher education institutions on large capital projects. Among their clients are Creighton University, Quinnipiac University and Catholic University. Members of the Pegasus Group also hold previous experience on projects at the University of Minnesota, including Coffman Memorial Student Union, the Studio Arts Building and Ridder Arena/Baseline Tennis Facility.

The McGough Companies previously worked on the townhouse student housing project at Carleton, completed in 2001, along with work on Olin Hall and the Gould Library expansion. McGough has significant experience in working with other higher education institutions in the state, including the University of St. Thomas, Hamline University, Macalester College and the University of Minnesota. They served as the contractor for the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts and the recently completed Guthrie Theater.

These two groups join the firm of Meyer Scherer & Rockcastle LTD (MS&R), which was selected as the architect for the Collaboratory project in early June.
