  • Dining Services at Carleton

Since September 2004, Joe Winegardner and his staff have been assisting me in making a gradual transition with the name of their department. The final changes were made in June 2005 and now it's time to announce that the food service department at Carleton is named Dining Services, not Sodexho. This is what you will see when you search the campus directory and what you will see on name badges and uniforms. Mail to Dining Services should be addressed with mailstop F-DINING. Carleton's relationship with Sodexho Campus Services has not been altered in any way other than this name change. Phone numbers remain the same as do e-mail addresses. I want to thank Joe, his management team, and all Dining Services employees for their help in making this transition.

  • Grounds Projects

Several grounds projects are scheduled during the weeks ahead. Please see complete article for a description of these projects.

    Full Content

    Lawn Spraying
Most lawn areas on campus and several off-campus properties are scheduled to be sprayed for weed control on Wednesday, August 3, or Thursday, August 4. If the turf has not recovered adequately from the recent hot, dry spell, the treatment may be postponed until the week of August 8.

    Concrete Work
Sayles-Hill should be finished by August 5. The crew will then move to First Street/Johnson House to repair the area disturbed by the utility work. Additional small projects will be finished by September 1.

    Paving
Following the repairs on First Street, a paving crew will be on campus to patch First Street and make other minor repairs on campus. We expect this work to take place during the week of August 15. All work areas will be posted 24 hours in advance.

    Striping
Parking lot striping and painting of curbs and crosswalks is tentatively scheduled for the week of August 8. This work may be deferred until after the completion of the paving work. Most of this work is done during non-business hours and will not reduce daily parking availability.
