I would like you to be aware of the attached plans which show some areas where construction fencing will be placed during week of May 13. These areas will be the access points into the tunnel system which will be used to remove old steam pipe and install new hot water pipe. The work is starting a bit earlier than usual construction season since we need the extended time to transition the entire east campus to hot water / geothermal and be back online by fall. The attached diagrams show the areas and details are:

1) Area near Lyman Lakes, south end of Goodhue bridge - in the grass, no circulation reroutes required.

2) Sidewalk directly adjacent to New Science Building (to LDC) - pedestrian and golf cart traffic routed around Concert Hall / Arena Theater

3) Watson lawn - in the grass, no circulation detours required

4) Mini Bald Spot - south sidewalk, pedestrians will be directed toward a mulch path in the Cassat / James lawn, golf carts will go around Mini Bald Spot west, north, east sidewalks.

All tunnel access points will be covered with a temporary "dog house" which - in addition to the fence - will be secured when not in use. Please feel free to call or email me with any questions.

Sincerely,

Martha
