Thursday, September 20th

  • "Buckthorn Menace" Project Launch and Lecture
    • Artist Jim Proctor and Professor Mary Savina introduce "The Buckthorn Menace," an environmental art installation to be constructed by volunteers on sites at Carleton and St. Olaf.
    • 5:00 pm, Boliou 104

Saturday, September 22nd

  • "Buckthorn Menace" Community Service Day
    • Volunteer efforts for "The Buckthorn Menace" will kick off at this Community Service Day event at the project installation site in Carleton's Upper Arb. Please wear work clothes and shoes/boots and bring work gloves and weed tools if you have them. Volunteer construction will continue through October 12; see the Volunteer page for work dates & times.
    • 2:30 pm, Upper Arb

October 2007

Saturday, October 6th

  • "Buckthorn Menace" work session
    • Work with artist Jim Proctor to clear buckthorn plants, construct the sculpture "seedheads" and assemble the final sculptures in the Upper Arb. No experience necessary! Please wear work clothes and shoes/boots. Work sessions will continue through October 12; see the Volunteer page for other dates and times.

Saturday, October 13th

  • "Buckthorn Menace" Opening Celebration
    • The opening celebration for "The Buckthorn Menace" environmental art installation will be held at the project installation site in the Upper Arb.
    • 3:00 pm, Upper Arb
