Drew Chambers

Each ceramic object here started out as a relatively uniform and symmetrical thrown form, a stack of circles, which was then altered by hand to have its own interesting internal and external form. In making each of these ceramic objects, I've been very aware of how my hands interact with the piece, both on and off the wheel. Some are more clearly functional than others, but each one to me is a unique experience. I am most excited about the way they fit into the hand, and the way the folds of the external form obscure the inside as you peer across the lip of the pot, evoking (to me at least) gorge mouths or the polished curves of other rock formations. Look as long as you like, hopefully you'll find something interesting there too.
