Non-exempt non-union staff may receive a benefit of one-half of Carleton's tuition for children attending Carleton after meeting eligibility requirements. This benefit is not to exceed four regular academic years per child and a maximum of twelve academic years per employee.

Faculty and exempt staff who meet eligibility requirements may receive a benefit of one-half of Carleton's tuition for children attending Carleton, or for children attending any accredited college and university equal to either:

  • The least of
    • 50% of tuition due,
    • 33% of Carleton's tuition,
    • Tuition due minus tuition-based financial aid; or
  • Payment of guaranteed fee and interest on an educational loan equal to 70% of tuition up to 33% of Carleton's tuition while the child is a full-time undergraduate student, not to exceed four regular academic years.

Union staff who meet eligibility requirements may receive a benefit for children attending Carleton of one-half tuition plus one-half actual board charge.

In all cases, the dependent tuition benefit may not be used for expenses in summer school, special programs, or any other special fees. Any child may receive only one benefit under this policy even if both parents are eligible. Dependent tuition benefits may be pro-rated.
