Non-exempt non-union staff may receive a benefit of one-half of Carleton's tuition for children attending Carleton after meeting eligibility requirements. This benefit is not to exceed four regular academic years per child and a maximum of twelve academic years per employee.
Faculty and exempt staff who meet eligibility requirements may receive a benefit of one-half of Carleton's tuition for children attending Carleton, or for children attending any accredited college and university equal to either:
- The least of
- 50% of tuition due,
- 33% of Carleton's tuition,
- Tuition due minus tuition-based financial aid; or
- Payment of guaranteed fee and interest on an educational loan equal to 70% of tuition up to 33% of Carleton's tuition while the child is a full-time undergraduate student, not to exceed four regular academic years.
Union staff who meet eligibility requirements may receive a benefit for children attending Carleton of one-half tuition plus one-half actual board charge.
In all cases, the dependent tuition benefit may not be used for expenses in summer school, special programs, or any other special fees. Any child may receive only one benefit under this policy even if both parents are eligible. Dependent tuition benefits may be pro-rated.
All employees and their families are welcome to use the HealthPartners Employee Assistance Program. The EAP is a confidential, safe, and easy-to-use resource. It provides confidential in-person assessment and short-term counseling by local professionals for any issue. Family counseling may also be available.

Carleton allows employees to purchase long-term care insurance policies underwritten by Transamerica Insurance Company. This type of coverage is not to treat any illness, but to help if you are unable to perform activities of daily living such as dressing, bathing, eating, toileting, continence, transferring, and walking.

Travel Accident Insurance
Employees of the College working at least 17.5 hours per week are covered under an accidental death and dismemberment policy when traveling on College business. The benefit amount is equal to two times base annual salary (minimum $100,000, maximum $300,000). Coverage is automatic.
In the case of a work injury, any employee must immediately notify their supervisor(s). Both the employee and supervisor are expected to fill out the Accident Report Form, which must be forwarded to HR.
