ISSUE/NOTICE: VPN upgrade on Wed Feb. 5th from 5-9pm to resolve issue affecting Windows users.

Summary: 

The VPN is currently unavailable for Windows users. The vendor maintenance work has been scheduled for Wednesday, February 5th from 5-9pm. All VPN users (Mac and Windows) will need to reinstall the VPN client after the maintenance. Instructions will be emailed to all faculty & staff on Wednesday and updated on this post. 

What is happening:

The security certificate for the Firewall and VPN has expired, which is making the VPN unusable by Windows users. Apple users are unaffected. 

What do you need to do:

Why are we doing this?

The current (expired) certificate was installed five years ago with different ITS staffing.  Updating the firewall and the certificate requires vendor support, and Wednesday is the first available opportunity.  We apologize for the inconvenience.
