Data Management Group - Statement of Purpose

The Data Management Group is convened monthly and reports directly to the Administrative Computing Advisory Committee (ACAC).  The group is comprised of members appointed by the ACAC committee and will represent the following offices:

  • Admissions
  • Institutional Research and Advancement
  • Student Financial Services
  • Human Resources
  • Registrar’s Office (also representing the Dean of Students area)
  • Dean of the College Office
  • Development, Alumni, College Relations
  • Residential Life
  • Business Office
  • Information Technology Services

The appointed members of the Data Management Group are administrative employees who work extensively with data in their respective areas.  The group will provide a forum to discuss data standards, system integration, data security, ongoing data related projects and internal data consistency across multiple interdependent enterprise systems, including the data warehouse, while discussing ways to ensure that Carleton is adhering to best practices.  The group will keep apprised of developments pertaining to data security and standards in higher education and will maintain the campus Data Management Guidelines.
