Lindenia: Iconography of Orchids, 1888, Gould Library Special Collections

This exhibit, on view in the East Wing on the main level of Gould Library, presents a selection of materials on the topic of the natural world. Publications range in date from Silva, or, A discourse of forest-trees, and the propagation of timber in his Majesty’s dominions, 1786, through Linda Gammell's artist's book, Amidst Trees, 2016. In addition to a variety of early botanical books and journals and this contemporary artist’s book, the exhibit includes a self-published book on the trees of Northfield by Harvey Stork, former Professor of Botany and founder of the College Arboretum.

All books in this exhibit are drawn from Gould Library Special Collections. Contact Rebecca Bramlett for more information or to make an appointment.
