This display highlights artists’ books from Gould Library’s Special Collections created at Women’s Studio Workshop in Vermont. Founded in 1974 in a two story single family house, Women’s Studio Workshop is home to a community that encourages education and equity in the arts. With an emphasis on fostering the careers of women artists, the Workshop offers multiple residency and internship opportunities. Many of these residencies provide women with the opportunity to create artists’ books, which utilize a variety of media, binding methods and techniques, a sample of which are included in this exhibit.
