Occuprint: Celebrating the Poster Art of the Global Occupy Movement

Thursday, November 8th, 2018
Gould Library, 4th Floor Lobby

This event takes place each day from September 27th, 2018 to November 26th, 2018.

This event occurs on:

Occuprint
A selection of prints from the Occuprint portfolio, from Gould Library Special Collections. The portfolio contains a total of 31 screenprints, and was published when The Occupied Wall Street Journal collaborated with Booklyn in 2012, to celebrate the poster art of the global Occupy movement.

Booklyn is an artist-run non-profit organization whose mission is to promote artists’ books as art and research material and to assist artists and organizations in documenting, exhibiting, and distributing their artworks and archives.

Funds raised from the Occuprint portfolio support social justice community projects. In 2012, Occuprint funds enabled the publishing of 40,000 Occupy Sandy Resource Guides that supplied victims of Hurricane Sandy much needed information on post-hurricane survival and health protocols. The guide was distributed by both FEMA and the Red Cross.
