Calendar: LTC Events, Book Groups and Workshops

The LTC hosts a variety of events each term.

  • LTC Lunches are open to all members of the Carleton community and lunch is provided for 50 people.
  • Targeted Audience Lunches are discussion based and intended for members of the community who have a vested interest in the topic.  We ask that you RSVP for these lunches so that reading materials or discussion questions can be sent out before beforehand.

The Teaching Toolbox: Coaching Students on Collaboration

Tuesday, October 15th, 2019
11:45 am – 1:30 pm / AGH Meeting Room

We often encourage our students to collaborate with each other on coursework outside of class, but we don’t always spend time helping students understand what we mean by collaboration. Similarly, we ask students to work in groups, but we don’t give them to tools to manage the difficulties of working with peers. Come share what you have tried in your classroom. In addition, we’ll explore examples of approaches that are being used at Carleton and at other institutions to make expectations around collaboration more transparent and to support more equitable collaborations.
